Hadith on Rain: The Prophet’s supplication for a windy storm

Aisha reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, if there was a windy storm, he would say, “O Allah, I ask you for its good, the good within it, and the good for which it was sent. I seek refuge in you from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil for which it was sent.” If the sky began to light up and thunder, the color of the Prophet’s face would change and he would anxiously come and go, back and forth. If it rained, he would be pleased with it and I could recognize the signs of that on his face. I asked him about it and the Prophet said, “O Aisha, perhaps it is as Allah said about the people of ‘Ad: When they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said this is a cloud bringing us rain!” (46:24)
