Hudhayfah on Munkar: Dead among living are those who do not reject evil

Abu al-Tufayl reported: It was said to Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with him, “What do you mean by your statement: The dead person is not one relieved by death, but rather the truly dead person is dead among the living?” Hudhayfah said, “It is one who does not reject evil with his hand, nor his tongue, nor his heart.”
