Rabia on Supplication: No, rather I will pray for the thief

Al-‘Ala ibn al-Musayyib reported: A horse was stolen from Al-Rabia’, may Allah have mercy on him, so the people sitting with him said, “Pray to Allah Almighty against him!” Al-Rabia’ said, “No, rather I will pray for him. O Allah, if he was rich, then turn his heart. If he was poor, then enrich him.”
