Hadith on Sun: The sun is under the control of the Almighty

April 8, 2018

Abu Dharr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him when the sun had set, “Do you know where it has gone?” Abu Dharr said, “Allah and his messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, it has gone until it prostrates under the Throne. It seeks permission to rise and it is given permission. A time will come when it is about to prostrate and it will not be accepted from it. It will seek permission to rise and it will not be given permission. It will be said to it: Return from where you came. Thus, it will rise from the west. That is the saying of the Almighty: The sun runs upon its appointed term. That is the determination of the Mighty, the Knowing.” (36:38)
