Hadith on Tawaf: Circling the Ka’bah is like performing prayer

Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Circling around the House is similar to prayer, except that you speak during it. Whoever speaks during it, let him speak nothing but goodness.”

At-Tirmidhi said, “This is practiced by the majority of scholars, that it is recommended for a man not to speak during circumambulation except for a need, to mention Allah, or to spread knowledge.”
