Hadith on Wudu: Recommendation to perform ablution for every prayer

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would perform ablution at the time of every prayer. Amr said, “How would you do so?” Anas said, “It is permissible for one of us to maintain ablution (for multiple prayers) as long as he did not become ritually impure (hadath).”

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Bukhari

Ibn Hajar said, “The command (to perform ablution for prayer) is an obligation upon those in a state of ritual impurity, and it is a recommendation upon others.”
