Ibn Abbas on Teaching: Narrate only what people can understand

Ibn Abdul Barr reported: Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Narrate to people only what they can understand. Do you want them to deny Allah and his messenger?”

Abu Hisham said, “I never narrated anything people did not understand but that it led them astray.”
