Sufyan on Reason: Intelligent person follows good, avoids evil

Bishr ibn al-Harith reported: Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “The reasonable person is not one who merely recognizes good and evil. Rather, the reasonable person is only one who follows good when he sees it and avoids evil when he sees it.”
