Hadith on Dua: Majesty of your countenance, greatness of authority

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “servant of Allah said: O Lord, all praise is due to you as befits the majesty of your countenance and the greatness of your authority. The angels were unsure and did not know how to record it, so they ascended to heaven and said: O Lord, your servant has said a word we are not sure how to record. Allah, although he is most knowing of what his servant said, replied to them: What did my servant say? The angels said: O Lord, all praise is due to you as befits the majesty of your countenance and the greatness of your authority. Allah said: Write it down as my servant has said it until he meets me and I will reward him.
