Hadith on Fiqh: Deadly result to give verdicts without knowledge

Ibn Abbas reported: A man was wounded during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The man had a nocturnal emission, so he was ordered to perform a ritual bath without a concession. The water seeped into his wound causing his death. When this news reached the Prophet, he said, “They killed him! May Allah curse them! Is not the cure for ignorance to ask questions?

عن ابن عباس قَالَ أَصَابَ رَجُلًا جُرْحٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ احْتَلَمَ فَأُمِرَ بِالِاغْتِسَالِ فَاغْتَسَلَ فَمَاتَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ قَتَلُوهُ قَتَلَهُمْ اللَّهُ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ شِفَاءُ الْعِيِّ السُّؤَالَ
