Hadith on Quran: Refuge with Surat al-Falaq and al-Nas

Abu Sa’id reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would seek refuge from jinn and the evil eye of man, until ‘the two chapters of refuge’ were revealed, al-Falaq and al-Nas. After they were revealed, he held to them and left everything else.

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ الْجَانِّ وَعَيْنِ الْإِنْسَانِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ الْمُعَوِّذَتَانِ يعني الفلق والناس فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتَا أَخَذَ بِهِمَا وَتَرَكَ مَا سِوَاهُمَا
