Hasan on Rebellion: Rush to their swords, left with toswords

Ibn Sa’d reported: Hasan al-Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “If people had patience when they are afflicted with trials from their ruler, it would not be long before Allah gives them a way out. Yet they rush to their swords, so they are left to their swords. By Allah, not even for a single day did they bring any good.”
