In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful
Imam al-Nawawi records in his book Meadows of the Righteous:
Chapter on reconciliation between people.

Allah Almighty said:
There is no good in most of their secret talks, except those encouraging charity, kindness, or reconciliation between people. And whoever does this seeking Allah’s pleasure, We will grant them a great reward.
Surat al-Nisa’ 4:114
And Allah said:
If a woman fears indifference or neglect from her husband, there is no blame on either of them if they seek fair settlement, which is best.
Surat al-Nisa’ 4:128
And Allah said:
So be mindful of Allah, settle your affairs, and obey Allah and His Messenger if you are true believers.
Surat al-Anfal 8:1
And Allah said:
The believers are but one brotherhood, so make peace between your brothers. And be mindful of Allah so you may be shown mercy.
Surat al-Hujurat 49:10
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Charity is due upon every joint of the people for every day upon which the sun rises. Justly reconciling two people is charity. Helping a man with his animal and lifting his luggage upon it is charity. A kind word is charity. Every step that you take towards the mosque is charity, and removing harmful things from the road is charity.

Umm Kulthum reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
He is not a liar who reconciles people by spreading good, or saying something good.

Imam Ibn Hajar commented:
The scholars said the meaning here is that he reports good things he knows and is silent about bad things. He would not be a liar, since a liar claims something different than it actually is.

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, heard the loud voices of two men arguing at the door. One of them was asking the other to lessen his debt and show leniency. The man said, “By Allah, I will not do so!” The Prophet came out, saying:
Where is the one who swore by Allah that he would not do good?
The man said:
It was me, O Messenger of Allah. He may now have what he likes.
