Riyad us Saliheen Sincere Counsel

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

An-Nawawi records in his book Riyad us-Saliheen:

Allah the Exalted said:

Remain upright as you have been commanded, you and those who turn in repentance along with you, and do not transgress. Verily, He is seeing what you do.

Surah Hud 11:112

And Allah said:

Verily, those who say our Lord is Allah and then remain upright, the angels will descend upon them, saying: Do not fear nor grieve, and receive glad tidings of Paradise you have been promised. We were your allies in the world and in the Hereafter. You will have therein whatever your souls desire and request as an accommodation from the Forgiving, the Merciful.

Surah Fussilat 41:30-32

And Allah said:

Verily, those who say our Lord is Allah and then remain upright, there will be no fear over them nor will they grieve. Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding therein as a reward for what they have done.

Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:13-14

Sufyan ibn Abdullah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a word in Islam after which I will not need to ask anyone besides you.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

Say: I have faith in Allah. Then remain steadfast to it.

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

Be deliberate in worship, draw near to Allah, and give glad tidings. Verily, none of you will enter Paradise because of his deeds alone.

They said, “Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said:

Not even me, unless Allah grants me mercy from himself. Know that the most beloved deed to Allah is that which is done regularly even if it is small.
