Allah loves kindness

By Abu Amina Elias

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

An-Nawawi records in his book, Riyad us-Saliheen:

Allah said:

The believers are those who spend in charity during ease and hardship and who restrain their anger and pardon the people, for Allah loves the doers of good.

Surat Ali Imran 3:134

And Allah said:

Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.

Surat Al-A’raf 7:199

And Allah said:

Not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel evil by that which is better and the one who is hostile to you will become as though he were a devoted friend, but none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one given a great blessing.

Surat Fussilat 41:34-35

And Allah said:

Whoever is patient and forgives, verily, that is among the matters of steadfast determination.

Surat Ash-Shura 42:43

Mu’adh reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Al-Ashaj Abdu al-Qais:

Verily, you have two qualities which Allah loves: forbearance and clemency.

You must be gentle, for verily, gentleness is not in anything except that it beautifies it, and it is not removed from anything except that it disgraces it.

Abu Huraira reported: A desert Arab entered the mosque of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while the Prophet was sitting. He prayed and when finished he said, “O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammad and no one else.” The Prophet turned to him and said:

You have restricted something that is vast.

It was not long before he was urinating in the mosque, so the people rushed to him, but the Prophet said:

Pour a bucket or a tumbler of water over it.

Then the Prophet said:

You have been sent to make things easy, and you were not sent to make things difficult.

Whoever is given his portion of kindness has been given his portion of goodness, and whoever is deprived of his portion of kindness has been deprived of his portion of goodness.

Do not get angry.

Shadid ibn Aws reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

Verily, Allah has prescribed excellence in everything, so if you kill then kill well, and if you slaughter then slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was never given two choices except that he would choose the easiest as long as it was not sinful, but if it was sinful then he was the furthest of the people from it.

Shall I not tell you for whom the Hellfire is forbidden? It is every person accessible, polite, and mild.
